Editorial: 40’s Stories

Fashion is having a retro moment — and it spans far and wide in terms of eras. Whether we’re talking about 80s colors, 70s glamour, 60s mod, 50s femininity or 40s sophistication, we’re nostalgic for the past. I’m feeling particularly 40’s-obsessed in no small part thanks to this great editorial in Jalouse. I love the details — Peter Pan collars, embellished pumps, pencil skirts and roller-curled hair.

Editorial: Vogue.com Travel in Style

Vogue.com’s latest editorial “How to Travel in Style” showcases various jetsetting looks. And while the clothes and photography are great, the accessories are what make this editorial really fun. The Proenza Schouler colorblock tote, the snakeskin shoes, the Pendleton blanket — they not only add visual interest to the shoot but enhance the outfits sartorially.

Consider me obsessed.

Editorial: Vogue’s “Gangs of New York”

Grace Coddington is such an editorial genius. No wonder she’s the star of The September Issue and such a highly valued asset at Vogue. The way she interprets an idea from a stylist’s perspective exhibits her talent. There’s few editorials where I can get immersed in the story and appreciate the clothes equally, but that’s exactly what she does. Everything works together. I especially love the last photo, so Upper East Side with the kitten heels and voluminous hair.
